“𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐞”

Yes. I’m aware.

My preferred diagnosis is 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝. 😜

Because I am. I know it. You know it, everyone knows it. And some choose to comment on it, usually in jest. (Sometimes not.)

What if we were as comfortable pointing out others personal shortcomings as we are with those tend to run late?

I can tell you this, if we did it in the same manner, it would be considered ridiculously rude or hugely hurtful.

It’s human nature – it is easy & comfortable to judge others whose struggles don’t look like our own, and we tend to be ultra understanding towards those who share our struggles. If you’re also punctually challenged, you won’t find someone more understanding than this lady right here.

What about those who struggle with their weight? (That’s a result of self control too, right?) “𝘖𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘢” or “𝘌𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣?” or “𝘋𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘖𝘞𝘕 𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘦𝘴?” or how about “𝘠𝘖𝘜’𝘙𝘌 𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘥??”

😳 𝐖𝐡𝐨𝐚. Rude. Mean.

How about those who are terrible at responding to texts? 😬 “𝘋𝘪𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦?” or “𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 & 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘒𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯?!”

How about those who consistently make poor relationship choices? “𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵?!? 𝘠𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰’𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘕𝘐𝘊𝘌 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶? 𝘈𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘬𝘢𝘺?”

𝐔𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝.

🌪What about the friend who struggles with keeping her house organized? “𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯’𝘵 𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘯𝘦𝘵𝘧𝘭𝘪𝘹, 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯’𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢 𝘸𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘬.”

𝐍𝐨𝐭. 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐟𝐮𝐥.

Or that friend who overspends & struggles to keep to a budget. “𝘠𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘬𝘪𝘥𝘴’ 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘯𝘥.”

𝐎𝐮𝐜𝐡.

𝙈𝙖𝙮𝙗𝙚 we can extend a 𝘵𝘢𝘥 more grace?? We ALL struggle. We just struggle in different areas. It’s easy to point out others’ shortcomings while excusing our own.

Colossians 3:13 says, “𝘉𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 . . . 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 . . . 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦, 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳.”

If you struggle with something, I’m guessing you’re acutely aware & don’t need additional commentary. I’m guessing you hate that trait, & wish you could do better. 😞

Me too. Let’s grant each other some grace. 💞
